The Milwaukee Brewers are fighting to stay alive in the National League Central division race, sitting three-and-a-half games back from the Chicago Cubs for first place.
At 51-40, Milwaukee holds the second NL Wild Card spot. So even if the Brewers don’t catch the Cubs (and there’s still plenty of time to do so), it’s likely the club will get in as a Wild Card team.
The Brewers need to add slug to their outfield group. Christian Yelich and Jackson Chourio are having great seasons, but Sal Frelick’s lack of power could be the difference between an early playoff exit and a deep postseason run, though Frelick leads the team with a .294 batting average.
With the trade deadline just a few short weeks away, the time of throwing together crazy trade proposals is here.
ESPN’s David Schoenfield devised several trade proposals for three star players, including a former NL MVP and five-time All-Star.
The Atlanta Braves are having a disappointing season and may listen to calls for their star players, like Ronald Acuña Jr.

Schoenfield’s trade proposal for Acuña looks like this:
Milwaukee: RF Ronald Acuña Jr.
Atlanta: SS Jesús Made (Milwaukee No. 1, MLB No. 8), SS Luis Peña (Milwaukee No. 3, MLB No. 39), OF Sal Frelick, RHP Logan Henderson (Milwaukee No. 6, MLB No. 91) and RHP Abner Uribe
“Milwaukee’s offer is enticing with two premium hitting prospects in Made and Peña,” wrote Schoenfield. “But it’s a riskier package as the 18-year-olds are a long way from the majors and neither is a lock to stick at shortstop.”
Adding a player like Acuña would make an immediate impact for Milwaukee and makes them a scary team down the stretch.
Atlanta is in a tough spot. They have lost four games in a row and eight of their last 10.
Sitting 13 games back from first place in the NL East and nine-and-a-half back from the third NL Wild Card spot, Alex Anthopoulos could get an enormous haul for his star right fielder if he decides to sell.
