Despite losing the first set in his fourth-round clash with Alex de Minaur, the 38-year-old displayed his trademark resilience to win the next three sets and seal his place in the quarterfinals with 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory.
He will next take on first-time grand slam quarter-finalist Cobolli. The Italian is enjoying a breakthrough run at the grass-court major. He has dropped only set in the four matches so far, and secured his place in the last eight with a battling 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 win over former finalist Marin Cilic.
Djokovic and Coboli have clashed only once previously, with the seven-time champion winning their match at the 2024 Shanghai Masters.
