Packers predicted to trade for Bengals $60 million superstar in league-altering NFL move

The Green Bay Packers are looking to be one of the top teams in the NFC in 2025. However, Matt LaFleur’s squad still has some glaring needs that raise concern, especially at edge rusher.

Outside of Rashan Gary. Green Bay lacks proven players and production in the edge rusher room. FanSided’s Cody Williams predicts the Packers will solve this issue by trading for disgruntled Cincinnati Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson.

“Green Bay would obviously have to get aggressive, especially if they’re going to outbid the rival Lions. But for a move that could be a separator between playoff team and Super Bowl contender for the Packers, wouldn’t making such a deal be well worth it?” Williams wrote.

Hendrickson is in a contract dispute with the Bengals, which caused him to skip mandatory minicamp in June.

Though both sides have resumed negotiations after a rocky spring, there hasn’t been much progress on a long-term deal, and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler stated during a recent appearance on SportsCenter that Hendrickson is ready to hold out if he doesn’t receive a new contract.

If Cincinnati can’t agree on a deal with the All-Pro edge rusher, they could trade him, given the fact that they let Hendrickson explore a trade in March. The Packers, who are an elite pass rusher away from being a legitimate Super Bowl contender, should call the Bengals and try to acquire Hendrickson.

The 30-year-old has posted 17.5 sacks in each of the last two seasons and would elevate Green Bay’s defense to another level.

Making a trade for Hendrickson is a no-brainer for the Packers and general manager Brian Gutekunst, even if it costs a first-round pick and a contract extension worth over $30 million annually.
