Grizzlies’ rookie fouled out with 10 Summer League fouls

If you were wondering how many fouls it takes to foul out of an NBA Summer League game, Jahmai Mashack was kind enough to give the answer by example.

It’s 10.

The Memphis Grizzlies’ rookie out of Tennessee, the Mr. Irrelevant as the last pick of the 2025 NBA Draft, certainly got after it on Monday night.

Mashack recorded his 10 fouls in 23 minutes off the bench.

Despite that, he was a plus-6. He scored five points, dished out nine assists, grabbed four rebounds and had two steals and a block.

And don’t forget the 10 fouls.

In a regular season NBA game, six fouls result in disqualification. In college, it’s five.

But the Summer League is about development and growth and often some level of scripted play time. Foul trouble isn’t supposed to be a factor.

But here was Mashack, fouling once every two minutes he was on the court, finding a way to an astounding final tally.

Mashack may find a way to stick around the NBA, but somewhere as a footnote, it’ll always be remembered he had a Summer League game with 10 fouls.
