The Celtics have officially completed deals to trade away champions Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis.
It was a bittersweet past few weeks for the Celtics and their fans when these moves unfolded.
With both deals separately being completed and official, Celtics GM Brad Stevens made a statement on both Holiday and Porzingis.

What was the statement?
Here’s what Stevens had to say about both players (via Jared Weiss):
“We are so thankful for KP and Jrue and the time we had together in Boston. They were great Celtics whose impact on our organization went well beyond the court. They were integral parts of two great teams, including one which brought us all a new banner. Their impact on this organization will last a long time, and we look forward to celebrating them when they return to the Garden this season.”
Although it was hard for the Celtics to part ways with two valuable players, Stevens had some positive words about the two new incoming players acquired in those trades (via Noa Dalzell):
“Anfernee is a really good young player who has continuously improved in his seven years in the NBA. Georges is no stranger to Boston and has continuously been a winning player over the course of his career. We are excited to add both of them to the team.”
Reports have made it evident that there’s no guarantee Simons or Niang doesn’t get re-routed this offseason, but for now, it appears they are a part of the Celtics’ plans for next season.
Celtics writer Noa Dalzell also reported that Stevens will be further addressing the media on Tuesday morning.
