Tottenham captain Son Heung-min is on course for a major future decision in the coming weeks.
The South Korean star finally secured his first title as a Tottenham player as he hoisted the UEFA Europa League trophy in Bilbao back in May but his next step remains unclear.
Tottenham activated a clause to extend his deal until the end of the 2025/26 season at the start of the year, as they looked to protect themselves from a possible free transfer exit. amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.Â
As per multiple reports, Son is open to both staying on for one more year under the new leadership of Thomas Frank, or moving on – if he does not have a regular starting role.
Injuries impacted his consistency last season, with just seven Premier League goals scored, his lowest tally since his debut campaign at the club in 2015/16.
Son will be allowed a degree of autonomy over deciding his fate – due to his longevity at the club – but Frank wants an answer before the start of August.

Son rejects MLS offer to decide Tottenham future
As per the latest update from the Daily Mirror, Son has rejected an opening offer from Major League Soccer outfit Los Angeles FC, despite retaining some interest in the move.
The 32-year-old wants to be 100% confident over his next step, and he will keep Los Angeles in mind moving into the coming weeks, as he prepares to make a final decision before August.
Son is contractually obliged to play in several of Spurs preseason games in Asia, which could complicate a departure, and a move to the USA will also require a reduction on his ÂŁ200,000 [$275,000] current weekly salary.
