PSG star delays transfer decision for one reason after asking price revealed

Paris Saint-Germain have booked their spot in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup after defeating Inter Miami in the Round of 16 on June 29.

The Parisians had an excellent run in the 2024/25 campaign, winning the Ligue 1 title and lifting their first-ever Champions League trophy, among other honors.

PSG have continued to pull off impressive displays in the Club World Cup as well and would not mind adding another trophy to their collection.

Even though things have been going successfully for PSG, the same cannot be said for one of their stars, Marco Asensio.

Asensio arrived at the Parc des Princes from Real Madrid in 2023 and was loaned to Aston Villa in February for the remainder of the previous campaign.

The Spaniard has not been a top name in PSG head coach Luis Enrique’s pecking order for some time now, and with one year left on his contract, Asensio is anticipated to part ways with the French club this summer.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce have been reported to be one of the top suitors for Asensio, with their manager, Jose Mourinho, reportedly keen on adding him to his squad for the upcoming season.

However, Asensio is yet to make the move to the Super Lig and is interested in considering potential offers from England and Spain.

What’s Paris Saint-Germain’s asking price for Marco Asensio?

Asensio’s current salary at PSG is €9.5 million, including taxes, and he is aiming for a net salary of up to €15 million (£13m/$17m) at his next club, according to Sercan Hamzaoglu.

The Ligue 1 giants, meanwhile, have set a firm transfer fee of €10m (£8m/$11m) for him.

While Fenerbahce have reportedly made their interest in Asensio clear, the 29-year-old is interested in exploring offers from the Premier League and La Liga.

The aforementioned report suggested that Asensio will make his decision after evaluating the offers he receives across leagues.
