Arsenal learn price tag for 20-year-old attacking transfer target

Arsenal are slowly starting to make their summer signings, but finding the right striker has proven to be difficult.

The club is also looking to sign a winger, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo high on the list of targets.

Another highly-rated attacker on Mikel Arteta’s list is Malick Fofana from Lyon. The French side is facing a financial crisis, which could mean Fofana would draw a big profit for them.

Lyon have set Fofana’s price tag at around £51.5m, according to The Independent. Arsenal aren’t the only Premier League club interested in the winger, as Chelsea and Nottingham Forest are also keen on Fofana.

Why is there so much interest in Fofana?

Fofana is just 20 years old, but he has shown great promise for Lyon. The winger scored 11 goals in 41 matches this season.

The Belgian international has shown he can play at the highest level in France and in the Europa League. He has had some breathtaking moments on the ball, leading to interest around Europe.

Fofana made his debut for Belgium recently after his breakout season with Lyon. The youngster can also play in a traditional front three, which is an additional reason he is wanted by multiple clubs.

Lyon are desperate to sell players to generate funds, and with so much interest, there could end up being a bidding war.

Should Arsenal have enough in the bank, Arteta’s side could swoop for both Fofana and Rodrygo, setting up two of the most highly-rated young talents to take on the Premier League together.
