Real Madrid have booked their spot in the Club World Cup quarterfinal after securing a win against Juventus in the Round of 16 on July 1 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
Following a goalless first half, Gonzalo Garcia netted the sole and winning goal of the match from an assist by Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 54th minute.
Garcia has turned heads with his performances for Real Madrid in the Club World Cup. He has netted three goals and provided one assist in the four matches played so far in the competition.
Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso shared his thoughts on Garcia and told DAZN,
“Today we are thinking about the World Cup. There will be time. I knew him well, I didn’t expect him to score three goals in four games, I won’t say that either, but I knew his pressure and his work and on top of that scoring goals. I trusted him and he is earning that trust,” as per Football365.
The 21-year-old’s efforts on the pitch have attracted attention from Chelsea, who are reportedly set to make an offer to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.

How much is Chelsea offering to sign Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Garcia?
Garcia received his first call-up to Real Madrid’s first team in 2023, and the academy graduate has since made 10 appearances, during which he registered four goals and two assists.
Spanish outlet Fichajes has reported that Chelsea are keen on signing Garcia ahead of the upcoming season and are working to prepare an offer of about €40 million (£34m) for the Spanish forward.
The Blues have reportedly identified Garcia as an ideal potential replacement for Nicolas Jackson, who is expected to part ways with the club soon.
While Chelsea pursue to acquire Garcia’s signature, Real Madrid will be preparing to face Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinal of the Club World Cup on July 5 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
