Man Utd plans transfer bid for Champions League finalist after asking price dropped

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a move for Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi this summer, and the timing couldn’t be better.

With Inter dropping their asking price, the Red Devils may finally land a player they’ve quietly admired.

The Italian international, who has played a key role in Inter’s recent success, is now reportedly available for around £30 million — a drop from the earlier €50 million valuation.

As per reports (via CaughtOffside), United have made contact with Inter to explore the conditions of a possible deal. No formal bid has been made yet, but interest is real and growing.

Frattesi made 47 appearances last season and helped Inter reach the UEFA Champions League final.

Although injury kept him out of the Club World Cup, his stock remains high. At 25, he fits United’s strategy of signing players who are entering their prime years.

With Christian Eriksen now officially off the books, there’s space in midfield and a need for fresh legs.

United may also be looking to improve on some underwhelming performances from their current options in the middle of the park. Frattesi’s energy and tactical awareness make him a strong candidate.

Why Man Utd wants Davide Frattesi?

Frattesi is more than just a box-to-box midfielder. He’s shown goal-scoring instincts — netting eight times for Italy — and offers a direct style of play.

That could work well under boss Ruben Amorim, who favors quick transitions and organized pressing.

One source close to the talks said, “Premier League clubs have been monitoring Frattesi for a long time, and now that his price has dropped… the deal is becoming more attractive.”

Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are also circling, but United may have an edge if they move quickly.

For now, Frattesi is taking time to weigh his future. But if United want to rebuild their midfield, this could be their moment to strike.
