Brad Marchand is running it back. The veteran center signed a six-year deal with the Panthers on Monday, one day before the start of free agency.
Marchand has been in the NHL since 2008 after being drafted by the Bruins with the No. 71 overall pick in the 2006 NHL Draft. He was with Boston until the 2025 trade deadline when he was sent to the Panthers, where he ended up playing a big role in helping Florida win its second consecutive Stanley Cup.
Now, Marchand will turn his attention to re-joining Florida as a veteran voice while showing that he still has something left in the tank at 37.

Brad Marchand contract details
Marchand has signed a six-year, $32 million deal with the Panthers to remain in Florida. That locks Marchand in with the rest of Florida’s core, as the team also re-signed Sam Bennett earlier this offseason and reportedly brought back Aaron Ekblad, as well.
Hearing Brad Marchand is closing in on a six-year extension in Florida…just under $32M is the total.
The Panthers pulled it off. Verrrrrrrrrrry impressive

The Panthers were so pleased with Marchand’s contributions that the team will be locking him in until he’s 43. While other teams like the Maple Leafs were reportedly interested, Florida kept Marchand from hitting the open market.
Brad Marchand age
Marchand was born on May 11, 1988 in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, Canada. While it feels like he has been in the NHL forever, the 37-year-old wasn’t one of the top 10 oldest players in the league last season. This is the first contract of his career that he didn’t sign with the Bruins.
