Naz Reid contract details: Timberwolves reportedly keep former 6th Man of the Year on big-money five-year deal

Only a few days away from free agency, the Timberwolves successfully prevented their best free agent from hitting the market.

Minnesota and forward Naz Reid have agreed to a new deal that will keep Reid with the Timberwolves for the next five years, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. Reid, who has spent his entire six-year career in Minnesota, would have been a coveted free agent by other teams if he reached the market.

Reid gets a raise from his previous three-year, $42 million deal after developing into one of the best sixth men in the NBA over the past few seasons. Here’s a breakdown of Reid’s contract and what it means for Minnesota.
