Did Warriors trade Jonathan Kuminga to Heat? Explaining post claiming deal is completed

It’s no secret that Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has been linked to the Miami Heat after a frustrating season in the Bay.

During the first night of the NBA Draft, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Kuminga could land with the Jimmy Butler-less organization this summer.

“After missing out on Kevin Durant, the Miami Heat are remaining active,” Charania said.

“One name to keep an eye on that I’m told they (the Heat) are expected to be a potential suitor for is Warriors restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga.”

Kuminga, who landed in Steve Kerr’s dog house toward the end of the regular season and isn’t viewed as an ideal fit with the Warriors by the 59-year-old head coach, averaged 15.3 points per game on 45.4% field goal shooting and 30.5% three-point shooting.

Kuminga undoubtedly has the talent to become an All-Star in the big leagues, but things have clicked for him in Golden State thus far.

Did the Warriors trade Jonathan Kuminga to the Heat?

No, the Warriors did not trade Kuminga to the Heat.

The Dubs are still exploring various options for the 22-year-old pro, meaning that for the time being, Kuminga is still a member of the Warriors’ organization.

On June. 9, ESPN’s Bobby Marks stated that it would be in the franchise’s best interest to consider a sign-and-trade before the start of the 2025-26 season, with the Brooklyn Nets being a likely suitor.

Keep an eye out for credible updates regarding Kuminga’s status with the Warriors.
