It was a memorable day for three Major League Baseball aces on Wednesday as they made collective history. That is because for the first time ever, three pitchers had scoreless starts with the name Jacob or Jake.
Jacob deGrom with the Texas Rangers, Jacob Lopez of the Athletics and Jacob Misiorowski pitched a collective 19 innings without allowing a run.

DeGrom, the veteran of the group who continues to amaze in his return from a series of injuries, took a no-hitter into the eighth against the Baltimore Orioles. He finished with seven innings of one-hit ball, striking out seven with two walks in a 7-0 win for the Rangers.
After making just nine appearances combined in 2023 and ’24 for Texas, deGrom has 15 starts under his belt this year with an 8-2 record and an earned run average of just over two.
Lopez led the Athletics to a 3-0 victory over the Detroit Tigers, as he went seven with three hits allowed and six strikeouts, walking just one. He is in his first season with the team after two years with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Misiorowski, the phenom for the Brewers who set another record last week with a hitless streak to begin his career, out-battled Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He threw five innings of two-hit ball, striking out eight with two walks in a 4-2 victory.
In three career starts with Milwaukee, Misiorowski has pitched 16 innings, allowing just three hits with 19 strikeouts.
