The NBA season is quickly approaching, and some superstars appear to be on the trade block. LeBron James was rumored to want out of Los Angeles at the start of free agency, but for now, it seems he’s staying put. However, in Milwaukee, superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo may be looking for a way out.
“Antetokounmpo is reportedly open to exploring other teams outside the Bucks for the first time in his career, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania,” Chris Cwik wrote.
The Bucks recently released Damian Lillard, a move that seemingly didn’t sit well with Antetokounmpo. Over the summer, Giannis has been playing with Greece and taking on an entirely different role.
“Absolutely,” Darvin Ham said. “It’s more team-oriented, more sets, and all of that here is different. They don’t play as fast as we do in the NBA, but in the NBA, his usage rate is off the charts. He constantly has the ball in his hands, so a little bit different role for him over there.”
In a proposed blockbuster trade, the 76ers would send a major haul to Milwaukee to pair Antetokounmpo with Joel Embiid.
“Philadelphia 76ers receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo. Milwaukee Bucks receive: Paul George, Jared McCain, a 2028 first-round pick (via LAC), a 2030 first-round pick and a 2032 first-round pick,” wrote Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley.

While George’s health is often a concern, McCain is expected to have a strong season after recovering from an injury that sidelined him for the entire year. Before the injury, McCain was a frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year award.
A pairing of Antetokounmpo and Embiid would create matchup nightmares across the league—assuming both can stay healthy. Embiid has struggled with durability in the past, but when he’s on the court, he’s dominant.
In this proposed deal, both sides would walk away with tremendous value. And with Tyrese Maxey already on the roster, this trade could make the 76ers instant title favorites.
