76ers trade pitch moves Joel Embiid for three 1st-round picks and more

Whether fans want to trade Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is up to individual preference, as some want to, and some don’t.

Whether that’s the right or wrong decision also remains to be seen, as the 76ers have some things to figure out over the next few years. Unfortunately, Embiid’s health is still a giant question, and until that’s figured out, some will believe that the team will be better off trading him.

Sports Illustrated recently proposed an idea, with Matt Brandon pitching a trade with the San Antonio Spurs to give the 76ers some intriguing pieces for their future.

“Philadelphia has been dancing on the edge of contender status for what feels like a decade. The addition of Paul George and the continued rise of Tyrese Maxey give them one of the East’s most watchable rosters, but can they really hang with the fully armed Cavs or Knicks?

“Embiid remains a generational talent — but he’s also 31, expensive, injury-prone, and occasionally disengaged. At some point, Philly may need to pivot,” Brandon wrote.

As he touched on, the 76ers have been attempting to contend for the better part of the past decade.

Unfortunately, Embiid’s injuries and his below-average play in the postseason at times haven’t helped the 76ers, but they’ve typically been one of the better teams in basketball when he’s on the court.

The question, however, is whether he’ll stay on the court.
