As the month of September reaches the midway point and NHL training camp looms on the horizon, trade chatter and activity begins to pick up as the season draws near.
One team that should be active from the get go this year is the Boston Bruins as the organization enters a crossroads between former contenders and the present need to retool.
A Bruins player whose name has been featured in trade rumors all offseason is Paval Zacha as there is reportedly trade interest in the forward from around the league via James Murphy.
What is the latest on Zacha?
The interesting piece of these Zacha trade rumors is where its coming from. Apparently it is not the Bruins who are shopping the forward, but teams have been picking up the phone vying for his services.
It makes sense why Zacha would be a targeted asset at the moment. The 28 year old Czech native is the ideal 2nd line center in today’s game as he is equally good on both sides of the ice. His numbers are not otherworldly, but you can always count on him for solid production. Zacha hit a career high of 59 points just 2 seasons ago in Boston.
We’ll see if the Bruins are moved by any of the offers they receive for Zacha. While they may not have him on their trade block right now, with where the team is at this stage an enticing enough offer would be hard to pass up on. Much of what happens will likely hinge on the start both Zacha and the Bruins get off to this season.
