The San Francisco 49ers lost Deebo Samuel in a trade this offseason, and they’re even more shorthanded at wide receiver to start training camp.
Both Ricky Pearsall and Brandon Aiyuk have been placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list.
Aiyuk tore his ACL and MCL last season and is still in the final stages of rehab.
Pearsall hurt his hamstring in mini camp and apparently hasn’t fully recovered.
The WR room has even more drama because Jauan Jennings wants either a new contract or a trade.
Those are the top three names on the depth chart.

Considering Brock Purdy just got a huge new contract, it’d behoove the 49ers to make sure their wide receiver corps is as intact as can be.
There’s time for Aiyuk and Pearsall to heal up and get ready to go, but San Francisco fans are surely crossing their fingers here just to be sure everything works out OK.
