49ers blockbuster trade pitch would bring $90 million All-Pro to SF for Brock Purdy

The San Francisco 49ers lost Deebo Samuel this offseason when they traded him to the Washington Commanders. They could try and replace him via trade.

The 49ers still have Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall, Jauan Jennings and plenty of draft picks that they could use on a receiver. However, they could swing a trade for a seemingly disgruntled All-Pro. FanSided’s Simon Shortt tabbed the 49ers as a team that could trade for Tyreek Hill.

“They traded Deebo Samuel because of the multi-year drama in their wide receiver room related to contracts,” wrote Shortt. “But a one-year rental for Tyreek Hill to join the roster would likely be less of an issue than keeping Deebo and Brandon Aiyuk together long-term. The offense in San Fransisco was a mess last year, mostly due to injuries. And while Hill has his own injury issues he would provide extra insurance for the room.”

Hill signed a three-year, $90 million extension in 2024 and has a $28 million cap hit this year. His cap hit could make him cheaper in terms of draft capital. The 49ers have plenty of picks to offer for Hill.

His relationship with the Miami Dolphins has gotten rocky. After the season, he wanted to leave, but then changed his stance. He recently posted a series of cryptic messages on X, hinting at a trade. After that he posted a video on TikTok once again hinting that the Dolphins may trade him.

Hill’s status in Miami is up in the air, and with all of their losses on defense, the 49ers may need an explosive offense to win games.
