4 players set to make debuts in Manchester City’s 2025/26 season

Manchester City have made four new signings so far in the ongoing summer transfer window.

After an underwhelming run in the 2024/25 campaign with no major trophies and a third-place Premier League finish, Pep Guardiola has made additions to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.

Man City signed Rayan Cherki from Lyon, Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea, Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan in June ahead of the Club World Cup.

While Cherki, Ait-Nouri, and Reijnders have made their debuts for Man City in the Club World Cup, Guardiola is yet to introduce some new faces in the 2025/26 season.

Marcus Bettinelli

Following a four-year tenure at Chelsea, Bettinelli has arrived at Man City as their new third-choice goalkeeper, replacing Scott Carson. The 33-year-old has signed a one-year deal with Guardiola’s side.

Bettinelli is expected to make his debut for Man City in the 2025/26 season, which starts with their opening match of the Premier League against Wolves on August 16 at Molineux Stadium.

Issa Kabore

Issa Kabore signed for Man City in July 2020 from Belgian club Mechelen and was on loan to his former club for the next season.

Since then, the Burkinabe star has been on season-long loans to four clubs, followed by his loan to German side Werder Bremen in January this year for the remainder of the season.

With the completion of his loan tenure at Werder Bremen, Kabore could finally make his debut for Man City in the 2025/26 campaign, after officially being part of the club for five years.

Divine Mukasa

After his impressive record at various youth levels for West Ham United, Divine Mukasa joined Manchester City’s academy in 2023.

The 17-year-old midfielder has continued to maintain his stride at City, netting 16 goals and providing 15 assists in 20 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League last season.

Mukasa’s talent and efforts on the pitch may be considered an asset for Man City, prompting Guardiola to give the Englishman a chance of debuting for the first team in the 2025/26 campaign.

Ryan McAidoo

Another of the Man City academy, Ryan McAidoo, also has a shot at making his way to Guardiola’s squad in the upcoming season.

McAidoo signed for Man City’s academy in 2024, after his respective tenures at the academies at Chelsea and Colchester. He has turned heads with his skills and contributions on the pitch for the youth levels of the England national team.

The 17-year-old has recorded 16 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances for Man City’s youth teams last season.

McAidoo is another great prospect for Guardiola to deploy in the 2025/26 season.
