Just a few days remain until the Tennessee Titans kick off their 2025 season. On Sunday afternoon at Empower Field at Mile High, they’ll face the Denver Broncos in the opener. How are Titans fans feeling as the new challenge approaches? The mood is definitely optimistic. Because they have a fresh face under center: rookie quarterback Cam Ward.
Putting all the pressure on a rookie can be overwhelming, but for the Titans, there’s no other option. That’s how high the stakes are this season. The team needs to prove what they can do on the field as soon as possible, and that means the 2025 NFL draft’s No. 1 pick has to deliver right from the very first snap.

The first part of this prediction that Cam Ward wins Offensive Rookie of the Year is widely expected. He’s one of the top contenders and many will consider this a normal projection. However, the second part is a more challenging feat.
The Titans/Oilers rookie passing record is held by Warren Moon, who threw for 3,338 yards in 1984.
“[Callahan is] going to put me in the best position to succeed,” Ward said last month.
Calvin Ridley finishes Top 5 in 2025 NFL receiving yards
The veteran wide receiver has high hopes for the rookie QB, and that optimism is expected to translate to the field. Ridley, who ranked 21st last season with 1,017 yards, is primed for a career-best campaign.

Brian Callahan wins Coach of the Year honors

Callahan and his team are in a “prove-it mode” mindset.
“We’re a team that’s in prove it mode right now,” Callahan said on Monday. “All of the things that we feel good about we’re gonna have to go do and show it on game day. Regardless of how good I feel about the process leading up to it.”
Titans sweep the AFC South
Preseason projections are sure to be proven wrong. The Titans will dominate the division. The key lies partly in how the other three teams perform. The Texans are expected to struggle once again, while the Colts face uncertainty with quarterback Daniel Jones and are predicted to have a “disaster” season.
