What is ESPN+? How to watch Teofimo Lopez vs. Jamaine Ortiz boxing fight through streaming app

Teofimo Lopez is ready for a challenging but rewarding fight against Jamaine Ortiz on February 8. Before the Super Bowl, the fight is for Lopez’s WBO and The Ring super lightweight titles. Tickets are still available for the fight on StubHub.

Lopez is a former unified lightweight champion, beating Richard Commey in 2019 for the IBF lightweight title and Vasiliy Lomachenko in 2020 for the WBA, WBO, and The Ring belts. After dealing with setbacks following a loss against George Kambosos Jr., he is currently on a three-fight win streak. Lopez last fought in June, beating Josh Taylor to win the WBO and Ring belts.

“The Takeover” is the betting favorite against Ortiz. While confident, Lopez knows how tough Ortiz can be, as they fought at a Golden Gloves event in 2015. Lopez won gold that year.

“Great fighter,” Lopez said about Ortiz via Boxing Scene. “You know, me and him faced each other back in the national Golden Gloves back in 2015, in the finals. So, I know I got a tough fight ahead of me. You know, it’s not a walkover. You know, this guy is very elusive. He’s a technician, like they say, so he gave Loma a run for his money. So, I gotta stay on my toes.”

Ortiz is a former NABF lightweight title. He lost against Lomachenko in October 2022 but established himself as a tough challenge for the former champion. “The Technician” last fought in September, beating Antonio Moran.
