Unbeaten British boxer Tommy Fury (10-0, 4 KOs) has revealed his next fight will be on May 9 in Budapest, Hungary.
‘TNT’ Tommy announced on Instagram, “Two years out. One surgery. The hardest battle I’ve faced has been the mental battle of being away from boxing. But I’m back stronger, sharper, and more HUNGARY than ever. May 9th, Budapest… It’s showtime. Let’s go!”
The 25-year-old hasn’t been seen in a boxing ring since his last fight in October 2023 when he defeated KSI in Manchester.
He was due to fight Darren Till earlier this year, in January, but he cancelled in December after Till constantly threatened to use illegal kicks and MMA tactics to if he was losing the boxing fight.
The younger half-brother of Tyson Fury first turned pro with UK promoter Frank Warren in 2018 and was hailed as a promising talent on his signing.
His amateur career was short due to difficulties finding suitable fights, but he managed to win the North Regionals twice and reach a National Championships final, all within 12 bouts.
However, his boxing career has taken a backseat as he has instead opted to fight YouTubers in lucrative events instead of chasing titles and rankings.
The Manchester man beat Jake Paul in February 2023, via a split decision, which was caused by a knockdown in the eighth and final round of the fight. After a flash knockdown in the last round, Mike Ross’s scorecard came out at 75-74 for Paul, but the other two were scored 76-73 to Fury.
Then, eight months later, Tommy defeated KSI vis unanimous decision with all three judges agreeing at 57-53, which included a point deduction for Fury.
