Brentford vs. Liverpool: Time, TV channel, stream, betting odds for Premier League match

Two in-form teams who ended 2022 on a high will target winning starts in their first games of the calendar year when Brentford host Liverpool in the Premier League.

The visitors made it four consecutive league wins by recovering from a goal down to beat Leicester City at Anfield on December 30, helped by Foxes defender Wout Faes’ generosity as the hapless Belgium international scored two first-half own goals to gift the Reds a 2-1 victory.

Brentford were more convincing on the same night, winning 2-0 at West Ham United to make it five matches unbeaten in the top flight with a second successive away triumph.

Brentford vs. Liverpool predicted lineups

Kristoffer Ajer, Shandon Baptiste, Aaron Hickey and Frank Onyeka are out for Brentford but head coach Thomas Frank has received the best possible news about an injury to arguably his most important player in the game at West Ham.

Top scorer Ivan Toney found the net again before being carried off on a stretcher with a knee issue. Frank says the problem is far less serious than it appeared and the deadly striker could play against Liverpool, although he may start on the bench as a precaution.

Brentford predicted lineup (3-5-2): Raya (GK) – Jorgensen, Jansson, Mee – Roerslev, Jensen, Dasilva, Norgaard, Henry – Mbeumo, Wissa

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp is still without attacking duo Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota through injury but Ibrahima Konate could return following his run to the World Cup final with France.

Fabinho is expected to be available again and Roberto Firmino could make his comeback from a hamstring injury, but new signing Cody Gakpo’s availability will depend on whether he has received clearance to play following his move from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool predicted lineup (4-3-3): Alisson (GK) – Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson – Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago – Salah, Carvalho, Nunez

Brentford vs. Liverpool betting odds

Klopp’s side are heavily odds-on to claim the win they need to leapfrog Tottenham Hotspur into fifth place in the Premier League, and punters will likely have an eye on whether the prolific Toney is involved before making a final decision on backing any result.

The Bees did not need Toney to score as they secured a 3-3 draw in a thriller in this fixture last season, when Yoane Wissa’s equaliser eight minutes from time denied Liverpool victory and secured a point for Brentford that they would probably accept again this time.
