Tim Tszyu next fight: When, where, what to know about world title fight with Jermell Charlo

After taking down Tony Harrison in a dominant fashion, Tim Tszyu has kept his spot in line to face Jermell Charlo for the undisputed title.

The 28-year-old was originally scheduled to face Charlo for the title in January, however after the champion was ruled out due to injury, Tszyu opted to risk his chance in order to face off against Harrison.

But after obliterating Harrison, Tszyu firmed up his position as the number one contender, and now awaits his shot at undisputed status.

When is Tszyu vs Charlo?

While there is currently no date set for Tim Tszyu to fight Jermell Charlo, Tszyu’s manager Glenn Jennings has said that the Australian is targeting the month of July, per Fox Sports. 

Charlo is currently injured, but speaking during the Showtime broadcast of Tsyu’s fight with Harrison, he is targeting a return by ‘late summer’ in America.

This is as part of a proposed super weekend of Australian combat sport, which will see Tszyu fight at the same location as UFC fighter Alexander Volkanovski.

There is no confirmed start time for Tim Tszyu vs Jermell Charlo.

Where will Tszyu vs Charlo take place?

While not confirmed, it is more than likely that Tszyu will take on Charlo in Las Vegas, and almost definitely in America. 

This will be Tszyu’s second fight state-side, after making his USA debut in March 2022, defeating Terrell Gausha at The Armory in Minneapolis.

Who will win?

While there are no official betting odds, Jermell Charlo will enter this fight as the heavy favourite over Tim Tszyu, as the current WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF, and The Ring title holder, sporting a 35-1 record.  

Tim Tszyu is no slouch and will enter the fight on a 22-win streak, having never lost, but this challenge will be unlike any he’s faced before.

Tim Tszyu’s last fight was against American Tony Harrison, who is the only boxer to have defeated Jermell Charlo. 

Tszyu took Harrison down in the ninth round and was dominant throughout the fight. 

In 2022, Tszyu made his USA debut, beating Terrell Guasha by Unanimous Decision, and in 2021 he fought three times, defeating Takeshi Inoue (UD), Steve Spark (TKO), and Dennis Hogan (TKO).
