MLB star Bryce Harper’s wife, Kayla Harper, just shared a life update as her husband’s team faces increasing pressure to move him to a different position on the field.
The 32-year-old baseball pro alternated between first base and designated hitter for the past two seasons and logged 16 starts in the outfield since 2021. In a bold prediction released earlier this week, CBS Sports writer Mike Axisa said that the potential acquisition of St. Louis Cardinals All-Star third-basement Nolen Arenado will likely send Bryce back to his full-time position in the outfield.
“I won’t be specific, though there’s a certain all-in NL East team with a core that’s starting to get older and wouldn’t have to try hard to find a way to make things work on the infield corners (by moving a certain outfielder-turned-first baseman back to the outfield),” Axisa said. “Point is, I’m predicting Arenado moves at the trade deadline rather than waiting until next offseason.”
The 2025 MLB trade deadline is July 31.
If Arenado moves to Philadelphia, third-baseman Alec Bohm would likely be pushed over to first base.
On Wednesday, Bryce’s wife, Kayla, celebrated her husband’s 15th year in the league on Instagram, writing, “Spring training #15 for daddy.”
She included a carousel of photos and a video of her husband and kids.
In one photo, Bryce is seen throwing a baseball wearing a Phillies uniform, while his two kids sat on the field watching him.
Kayla revealed in the caption that her son Krew “had the time of his life getting to go to work with dad.”
In a short video clip added to the post, Crew could be seen gliding across the floor on a stool while laying on his stomach.
Another photo showed the couple’s daughter fishing, while rocking Hermes.
Several took to the comments section to compliment the happy family.
One person wrote, “This fills my heart with so much love and joy! Glad to see you guys are doing so well.”
Another person commented, “The Harper crew is back!!!! The best time of the year!!!!!”
Someone else said, “Time with the kids you’ll never forget, great pics. Excited for this season.”
Bryce is currently signed on a 13-year $330 million deal with the Phillies.
His deal includes a ntrade clause and has no opt-outs, according to ESPN.
He was the first overall MLB draft pick in 2010 by the Washington Nationals.
