Manchester United are watching one young star closely. But they’ve made it clear — there’s a catch.
Tyler Dibling, the Southampton midfielder turning heads across Europe, is on United’s radar. Still, the Red Devils won’t move for him reportedly unless one major box is ticked — winning the Europa League.
It’s been a season to forget for United in the Premier League.
A struggling campaign has seen them hit a new low in points, and changes are expected in the summer. New boss Ruben Amorim is already looking at how to reshape his squad.
But funds are tight, and priorities must be set. That’s where the Europa League comes in.

Man United’s transfer plans hinge on Europa League
Reports (via ESPN) say United are serious about Dibling — but only if they reach the Champions League next season.
That means lifting the Europa League trophy next month. If they do, they’ll unlock an extra £80 million in prize money and TV revenue.
As per the same reports (via ESPN), “Manchester United will step up their interest in Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling if Ruben Amorim’s team secure Champions League qualification by winning this season’s Europa League.”
Dibling, just 19, has impressed despite Southampton’s difficult season. Relegation has hit the club hard, and while they reportedly want £100 million, most feel that figure will fall. Especially with multiple clubs circling.
United aren’t alone in chasing the youngster. Chelsea, Man City, Spurs, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig are all in the mix.
But with a Champions League spot, United might have the edge. If not, they’re likely to shift focus to other targets — especially a new striker and a midfielder.
So while Dibling might be in their plans, he’s not Plan A. More like Plan Champions League.
