Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was the victim of a home burglary while playing on Monday Night Football on the road against the Dallas Cowboys. Featured in this year’s ‘Quarterback’ series on Netflix, Burrow opened up about the situation and vented more than frustration to the cameras, saying that it was a sign of the year that was for him.
Four suspects were later arrested for the burglary, but the damage had been done and Burrow expressed his anger on the Netflix series. Here’s what Burrow said to the cameras about the burglary of his home:
“Of f—— course this happened to me right now,” Burrow told Netflix. “When you’re on cloud nine, something’s gonna bring you right back down. It just felt like the kind of year that it was.” (H/T Pro Football Talk)
It was also later revealed that Burrow canceled his plans to purchase a $3 million Batmobile for himself, due to the burglary. The decision is quite understandable after the quarterback was robbed of over $300,000 and adding a marquee classic item such as a Batmobile would’ve just brought more attention to him and his home.

While his journey back from a wrist injury he suffered in 2023 was the biggest narrative around Burrow in the 2024 season, there’s plenty of story around him off the football field which made him a great selection for the series.
