How to watch Farmers Insurance Open: Live stream, TV channel, tee times for PGA Tour golf event

The fourth stage of the 2024 PGA Tour gets underway in the southwestern US on Wednesday, January 24, as the world’s best golfing talent heads to Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego for the Farmers Insurance Open.

One of the longest-running events on the Tour, what was originally called the San Diego Open began all the way back in 1952, and has become one of five early-year events based in California and neighbouring Arizona known as the “West Coast Swing”.

Won in 2023 by Max Homa, the Farmers Insurance Open has a cool $9 million prize fund up for grabs this year, with California native Homa returning to defend his title and headlining a star-studded group of golfers looking to get their first wins on the 2024 Tour.

We may only be three events into the 2024 PGA Tour, but have already seen some surprises — none more so than 20-year-old amateur Nick Dunlap winning The American Express tournament in the Coachella Valley just days ago. Can Dunlap or another outsider upset the odds in the second event of this year’s West Coast Swing?

We’re looking forward to another closely-fought tournament in San Diego, and The Sporting News has all bases covered for US viewers to keep tabs on all the action.

Who is competing at the Farmers Insurance Open?

2023 champion Max Homa recently moved up two places to fifth in the world golf rankings, and he’s far from the only top player heading to San Diego in a bid to win the Farmers Insurance Open title again.

Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay and last year’s runner-up Keegan Bradley will all by vying to take home the largest slice of that $9 million prize fund, while Luke List, Justin Rose, Jason Day, Brandt Snedeker and Scott Stallings all have experience of winning the Farmers Insurance Open in recent years.

At his best, the legendary Tiger Woods dominated this tournament and took home a record-breaking seven titles between 1999 and 2013. He’s one of nine players to have won the top prize at the Farmers Insurance Open, with countryman Phil Mickelson his closest contender on three victories.

Of the seven players to have won two titles, 2024 competitors Brandt Snedeker and Jason Day could also join Mickelson in the three-titles club, while defending champion Homa, compatriots Luke List, Scott Stallings and Englishman Justin Rose are all on the hunt for a second victory here.
