What time is Canada vs. USA today? TV channel, live stream to watch 2023 World Juniors semifinal

The semifinals of the 2023 World Juniors are today and one of the best rivalries in the game of hockey is set to take center stage in Halifax Wednesday night — Canada vs. the USA.

The North American rivals meet at the World Juniors for the first time since the 2021 gold-medal game. A 34-save shutout from Spencer Knight gave the United States its fifth-ever World Juniors championship, knocking off the Canadians 2-0.

Canada punched its ticket to the semis in dramatic fashion with a 4-3 overtime win over Slovakia. On the same night that Connor Bedard set multiple Canadian World Juniors records, the 17-year-old phenom potted the game-winning goal in the extra frame to send the defending champs to the semifinals for the fourth consecutive tournament.

The consensus top pick in the 2023 draft has been sensational at the tournament. Bedard leads all skaters in goals (eight), assists (13) and points (21). He has already entered into the top-five all-time in points at a single tournament.

Opposing the Canadians is an American team with its eyes on getting back to the podium after missing out on a chance to medal at the last tournament. The USA dominated Germany in the quarterfinals, defeating the Germans 11-1 behind Ryan Ufko’s five assists and Logan Cooley’s hat trick.

The top line of Cooley, Jimmy Snuggerud and Cutter Gauthier has paced the United State’s offense. Cooley’s 11 points trail only Bedard at the tournament, Snuggerud is third with 10 and Gauthier is tied for fifth with eight.

The Sporting News has all you need to watch Canada vs. USA semifinal at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship, including the start time and TV channels for viewers in the United States and Canada.
