Bulls predicted to part ways with $60 million 76ers alum

The Philadelphia 76ers will likely make some changes this offseason, but they won’t be the only ones. After the Chicago Bulls saw their season end in the play-in, some changes could be in store for them, too.

That could mean multiple players could be off the team by the start of the 2026 season. Among those is Sixers alum and two-time All-Star Nikola Vucevic. FanSided’s Joseph Kallan explains why Vucevic could be traded this offseason.

“At 33, Vučević is taking up space on a roster that desperately needs to get younger, more athletic, and more committed on the defensive end. The Bulls had a window to move him at the deadline — they didn’t. Now they need to find value this summer before it’s too late,” Kallan wrote.

The Bulls discussed trading Vucevic to the Golden State Warriors at the NBA trade deadline, but NBA Insider Marc Stein reported that “talks fizzled as the teams could not agree on a trade construction.”

Chicago has been a very mediocre team ever since they acquired Vucevic from the Orlando Magic in 2021. While the Bulls have made the playoffs or the play-in over the last few years, they have never done anything substantial. A trade at this point seems inevitable. When the 2025 season wraps up for everyone, Chicago could revisit those trade talks with Golden State.

Vucevic started his NBA career playing for the Sixers in 2011, though he didn’t play much for the team in his lone season in Philadelphia. He was then included in the trade for Dwight Howard in 2012, where he became an All-Star in Orlando.
