Before Team USA heads overseas for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, it will travel to Las Vegas for training camp.

Team USA training camp is always a fun part of the pre-tournament schedule, where the Senior National Team goes head-to-head with a Select Team that is typically made up of the rising young players in the NBA. This year is no different, where Team USA stars Anthony Edwards and Paolo Banchero will face off against Select Team stars and draft class rivals like Jalen Green and Chet Holmgren.

The Senior National Team and Select Team will take part in a series of practices together and conclude training camp with a scrimmage where fans will be able to see this version of Team USA for the first time.

When does Team USA training camp begin for FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023?

  • When: Thursday, Aug. 3 to Sunday, Aug. 6
  • Where: Las Vegas, Nevada

USA Basketball will begin training camp for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 in Las Vegas on Thursday, Aug. 3. Training camp will conclude on Sunday, Aug. 6 before Team USA hosts Puerto Rico for a tune-up game on Monday, Aug. 7.

USA Basketball Showcase schedule

After one showcase game against Puerto Rico, the team will head to Spain and Abu Dhabi for four more tune-up games ahead of the World Cup.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Cunningham — who suffered a season-ending shin injury during the 2022-23 season — was invited to play for the United States Senior National Team but declined to focus on making a full recovery for the upcoming NBA season.

When is the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023?

The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 is set to tip off on Friday, Aug. 25. The Group Stages will run through Sept. 3 with the single-elimination knockout stage beginning on Sept. 5.

The tournament will conclude with the Gold Medal match on Sunday, Sept. 10.

The United States will be in Group C with Jordan, Greece and New Zealand. All of their first round group stage games will be played in the Philippines.
